Today was really really nice. Craig and I went down to St.Pete and visited some of our favorite places in the area. Bonus, I found this great tree. Double Bonus, I got a Fine Young Cannibals cassette and The Book of Practical Cats.

"Is This Better?"
Acrylic and glitter on canvas
This piece was inspired by a conversation with Craig about how offended some people get when it comes to periods. Well, if you are of so offended by body functions, particularly the menstrual cycle, is this better? No? Good.
Women should not feel the need to disguise or refrain from mentioning what their body naturally does.

Hey everyone!! This piece will be up for viewing at the Oleson Gallery in St.Petersburg, Fl from Valentines day until March!! It is part of an all women art show. Come check it out!!

"Royal blood"
Acrylics on board.
I have been working with anatomy themes in my artwork a lot recently. It is sort of a way of loosely expressing my annoyance with my body/its problems and how I still appreciate it even if it is pretty awful at being a functioning human body.

In date order, oldest to newest.

Everyone is doing reflective 2013 posts so I might as well join in. I feel that artistically I more or less bloomed in 2013. Only two years ago I literally couldnt draw much of anything without it just being a copy of another work. Thanks to my super rad pony-tailed professor at SPC I was able to learn realism drawing which serves as a super wonderful foundation for any form of art. My art is moving every which way and I am excited to evolves more as an artist over the new year~
